Justice, Michael (Mike) Edwin

 

TYRONE -- Michael E. Justice, formerly of Sharpsburg Ga., passed away on Monday, May 19, 2008, at the age of 60.

Mr. Justice was a respected and well-known member of the banking community with over 38 years experience. For the past 27 years he proudly served in the banking industry in the Fayette and Coweta County area serving 10 of those years as president of the Farmers and Merchants Bank of Senoia. He was active in Church, civic and community activities, having served as a member of the Newnan Rotary Club, the Newnan-Coweta Chamber of Commerce, the 1982 United Way Public Relations Chairman and in 1989 on the Coweta County School Board Steering Committee. Mr. Justice was a charter member of the Tyrone Rotary Club for where he served as president from 1994 to 1995. He received the Paul Harris Fellowship Award and served as chair of the National Accreditation Committee of 1995 for the Fayette County Chamber of Commerce. He also served on the board of directors for Arlington Christian School in Fairburn, Ga. He attended Tennessee Tech and the University of Tennessee. After serving in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves, he began a career in banking, graduating from the Georgia Banking School at the University of Georgia, and the Graduate School of Banking at Louisiana State University. Mr. Justice was a faithful member of Peachtree City Church of Christ where he had served as a deacon and elder.

Funeral services for Mr. Justice will be at 2:30 p.m. today, May 22, at Fayetteville Church of Christ, with Ministers Charles Thompson, Ross Anderson and Dr. Aubrey Johnson officiating.

Mr. Justice is survived by his wife, Charlotte Justice; daughters, Mandy Noble and her husband, Mark, of Memphis, Courtney Knight and her husband, Landon, of Dennison, Texas; grandchildren, Ethan and Nina Noble; parents, Ed and Jo Justice, of Chattanooga; brother, Stephen Justice, of Soddy-Daisy; and nephew, Ryan Justice.
