My name is Jerry Ann Hale and I have placed this page here in memory of my Mother who passed away on June 7th of 1999.
I placed it here to share my memories of her with you.
The poems I place here where those she loved the most...
My Mother is in Heaven now, resting with the Angels and I hope she can look on this web page and know that I love her and miss her very much..

The following is a poem that Mother really loved.
She even had copies framed and placed on her wall in the Living Room and on top of her TV as well.
It had a LOT of meaning for her

Before you read the poem I think you should read this letter that my Niece sent me after she read Mothers Obituary...

I just read Mamaw's obituary.
How very proud I am to read about a woman I could call my Grandmother.
Her life was so dear to me, even though I didn't take the time I should have with her.
The greatest thing I did was give my child her name. Amanda Bess.
I remember her crying, I remember her laughing, I remember her laughing so hard she would cry. Such a loving person, forgiving, enduring, compassionate, everything mattered to her.
The weight of peoples lives was heavy on her heart. Time and time again they took their toll on her, and God gave her heart more strength over and over again. As time went by, medicine could show no proof of the damage years before, but everyone knew God was there again.
She has always been full of faith. She always had a second presence with her. Sometimes it would leave you in awe, but never afraid. She welcomed it and never boasted about it, never denied it.
The stories you could tell and will tell about her will go on forever. I believe that love and laughter filled her more that pain and grief, mainly thanks to you. When you look up, or even when you look around, know now you have another angel looking over you.
Whatever anyone thinks, she was my Grandmother and I will love her forever.
Take care, I love you all. Cindy D. Gaudet

IF I -
by Richard M. "Pek" Gunn"
Poet Laureate of Tennessee

If I could go back and undo
Some wrongs I've done along the way,
And know that wounds that I have caused
Were healed of all the scars today.

If steps I've caused some to take
By thoughtless ways in which I've trod
Have led to a confused estate.,
Instead of simple trust in God.

If someone else still wanders on
Who followed my unsteady track.
And lost his way for lack of light
Because my lantern globe was black.

If I could gather up and bind
The wasted years that I have spent,
And treat them as they'd never been
Today I'd be much more content.

I'm pardoned from my undone past-
But even so the hurt is done,
For out there somewhere in the dark,
A soul is lost I might have won.

Mom was a Christian in the truest since of the word.
When she found this one she asked me to type it up and frame it.
Thus it because a part of our house....

ONE SOLITARY LIFE
He was born in an obscure village
He worked in a carpenter shop
He then became an itinerant preacher.

He never held an office
He never had a family
or owned a house.
He didn't go to college.
He had no credentials but himself.
Nineteen centuries have come and gone,
and today he is the centeral figure
of the human race.

All the armies that ever marched,
and all the navies that ever sailed,
all the parliaments that ever sat,
and all the kings that ever reigned
have not affected the life of man
on this earth as much as that...
ONE SOLITARY LIFE

Below you will find a poem my Mother found one day and thought was worth keeping and reading. I don't know who the Author is so if anyone out there knows please email me and let me know so that I can add it to this page...

Live each day to the fullest,
Get the most from each hour,
Each Day,
Each age of your life.
Then you can look forward with confidence,
And back without regrets.
Be yourself, but be your best self,
Dare to be different and to follow your own star.
Dont be afraid to be happy,
Enjoy what is beautiful,
Love with all your heart and soul.
Believe that those you love, love you,
Forget what you have done for your friends,
And remember what they have done for you.
Disregard what the world owes you,
And concentrate on what you owe the world.
When you are faced with decision,
Make the decision as wisely as possible, then forget it,
The moment of absolute certainty never arrives.
And above all,
Remember that God helps those who help themselves,
Act as if everything depends upon you,
And pray as if everything depends upon God.
