Morris, Herbert "Herb" Andrew you WILL be missed

Herbert �Herb� Andrew Morris, 62, of
Mowbry Mountain, died on Thursday, Nov. 26, 2009.
He was a Vietnam
veteran, serving in the U.S. Navy and earned the Vietnam Campaign Medal and the
Vietnam Service Medal with one Bronze Star.
His early career years were
involved with the building of Sequoyah Nuclear Plant through the Carpenter�s
Local where he maintained a 30-year membership. He was skilled across several
disciplines and last worked with Sheetmetal Engineering Specialists until his
retirement.
Herb fully enjoyed his bountiful world through his love for
fishing, exploration, treasure hunting, wood carving and scenery painting. His
carvings can be found in homes and businesses from Ringgold to Nashville.
His easy-going charisma, generosity and courageous, bigger-than-life spirit
earned the admiration and love of a broad array of friends and acquaintances. He
was happiest when helping a friend or family member.
His survivors
include two daughters, Margie Lennon of Boston, Ma., and Tara Morris of
Chattanooga; sister, Paula (John) Parker; brother, Jack Morris; and mother,
Doris Poindexter Morris, all of Chattanooga.
Herb was preceded in death
by his father, Jack Morris Sr. and his brother, Timothy Stratton Morris.
A memorial service will be held for his friends at the River Inn on Suck Creek
Rd., on Saturday, Dec. 12, from 2-5 p.m. Pictures and memories are welcome and
encouraged.
A family service to place Herb's memorial stone alongside his
brother's grave is planned at Forest Hills Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers,
contributions may be made to the Carpenters Local Chaplain's Fund for family
emergencies.
